Quick verdict: 4.7/5 ★★★★½
The WSO Elite Modeling Program is the best-value financial modeling bundle I have tested. Six practitioner-taught courses take you from a blank spreadsheet to a full LBO model, with 50+ hours of video, real case work and a certificate per course. At $497 with lifetime access and a 12-month unconditional money-back guarantee, it is an easy recommendation for anyone building modeling skills from the ground up.
- Best for: students, career switchers and incoming analysts who need job-ready modeling skills
- Time to complete: 50+ hours of video across 6 courses (budget 2-3 months part-time)
- Access: lifetime, self-paced
- Guarantee: 12-month unconditional money-back
What Is the WSO Elite Modeling Program?
The Elite Modeling Program is Wall Street Oasis’s flagship self-study modeling bundle. It packages six of WSO’s modeling courses into one purchase: financial statement modeling, DCF, valuation, M&A, LBO and VBA macros in Excel. WSO says 25,947 students have enrolled in this program, and it sits at 4.9 out of 5 across 90 verified reviews on their site.
The angle that separates it from most online courses is who teaches it. Every course is led by a practitioner: bulge bracket investment bankers on the core modeling courses and a megafund private equity associate on the LBO course. The teaching style follows suit. Concepts get explained in a few minutes of video, then you immediately build the thing in Excel yourself, usually inside a running case study.
If you have read my main Wall Street Oasis review, you will know I rate WSO’s private equity courses highly. This review goes deep on the Elite Modeling Program specifically: what is actually inside, what it costs, and who should buy it.
WSO Elite Modeling Program Pricing (2026)
Prices checked on September 9, 2026, directly on wallstreetoasis.com:
| Option | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| One-time payment | $497 | Full program, lifetime access |
| Payment plan | 3 x $170 | Same content, spread over 3 months ($510 total) |
Two things to know about the price. First, WSO shows a struck-through “total value” of $3,987 next to the $497. Treat that as marketing math, not a real discount. Second, WSO runs frequent sitewide promotions, so the checkout price is sometimes lower than list. Either way, both options include the full program, all six course certificates and the bonus stack below, with lifetime access.
What’s Inside: Course by Course
The program is six courses totaling 50+ hours of video and 60+ exercises. Here is the full breakdown from the live course pages:
| Course | Lessons | What you build |
|---|---|---|
| Financial Statement Modeling | 60+ (9 modules) | A full 3-statement model from Nike’s real 10-K and 10-Q filings, linked statements and supporting schedules included |
| Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Modeling | 50+ (7 modules) | A complete DCF valuation of Nike, built on the 3-statement model from the previous course |
| Valuation Modeling | 170+ (19 modules) | Trading comparables and precedent transaction analyses on real companies |
| M&A Modeling | 60+ (10 modules) | A merger model with accretion/dilution analysis, financing assumptions and purchase price allocation |
| LBO Modeling | 115+ (14 modules) | A full LBO model: debt schedules, exit and returns analysis, plus advanced modules on dividend recaps and add-on acquisitions |
| VBA Macros in Excel | 50+ (5 modules) | Automation of repetitive Excel work, ending in a real-world case study |
The sequencing is deliberate. Financial statement modeling lays the foundation, the DCF course builds directly on that model, and valuation, M&A and LBO stack on top. By the time you reach the LBO course you are not learning isolated techniques anymore, you are running the same workflow a deal team runs.
For private equity recruiting, the LBO course is the standout. It is taught by a megafund PE associate and goes well beyond a textbook LBO: detailed debt schedules, sensitivity and returns analysis, and the advanced modules on dividend recaps and roll-up add-on acquisitions are the exact wrinkles that come up in modeling tests and on the job. This is the closest thing I have seen to a filmed version of how a PE associate actually builds.
The VBA macros course looks like the odd one out, but do not skip it. Automating the boring 20% of Excel work is a genuine edge in your first year, and nobody else bundles it into a modeling program.
The Bonus Stack
On top of the six courses, enrollment includes a stack of extras. The ones that actually matter day to day:
- WSO Company Database, 12 months: 24,000+ interview insights, 51,000+ salary and bonus datapoints and 20,000+ company reviews. Genuinely useful for comp negotiation and interview intel.
- 18 mini courses plus the WSO video library, lifetime: shorter courses on adjacent topics, good for filling specific gaps.
- 24 months of elite support: drop a comment on any lesson and a finance professional answers within 48 hours. This is the closest thing to having an instructor on call.
- Bloomberg.com, 12 months: full digital access.
- S&P Capital IQ Pro, 3 months: real market-data workflows for research, screening and comps, plus the Capital IQ Pro Academy certification.
Most people will get real value from the database and the support. The Bloomberg and Capital IQ access is nice-to-have unless your school or employer does not already give you a terminal or data subscription.
WSO Elite Modeling Program Pros and Cons
What I like:
- Practitioner instructors. Bulge bracket bankers and a megafund PE associate teach the courses, and it shows in the workflow-level detail.
- Real case work. The Nike 10-K case runs across multiple courses, so you practice the full chain from filings to valuation the way it happens on a live deal.
- Complete modeling arc. Statements, DCF, comps, M&A, LBO and VBA in one bundle. The LBO advanced modules (recaps, add-ons) are rare at this price.
- The guarantee. 12 months, unconditional, no questions asked. The most generous refund policy in this market, full stop.
- Support and community behind it. 48-hour pro answers on lessons, plus the largest finance forum on the internet when you get stuck.
- Six certificates. One per course, shareable to LinkedIn as you finish each.
What I don’t:
- Self-study only. Nobody grades your model. If you need live feedback, this format will frustrate you.
- The pricing theater. The permanent “87% off $3,987” framing is marketing. The program is worth $497 on its own merits; it does not need the anchor.
- Some redundancy. Verified reviewers note overlap between courses, and the foundations move slowly if you already have banking experience.
- Modeling only. It does not cover the PE deal process, private credit or interview prep. Those live in WSO’s other programs.
Who the Elite Modeling Program Is For (and Who Should Skip It)
Buy it if you:
- are a student or career switcher targeting IB or PE and need structured modeling reps, fast
- are an incoming analyst or associate who wants to arrive genuinely desk-ready
- work in corporate finance, audit or consulting and want to move toward deal work
Skip it if you:
- already build LBO models weekly. You know most of this; only the advanced LBO modules would be new
- have interviews lined up and your bottleneck is closing, not modeling. WSO’s PE Interview Course is built for that
- want one bundle covering modeling plus interviews plus private credit and secondaries. That is WSO’s PE Master Program, which I cover in my main WSO review
Conclusion
The Elite Modeling Program does one thing and does it well: it takes someone with no modeling background and turns them into someone who can build a full LBO model without supervision. The instruction is practitioner-grade, the case work mirrors real deal workflows, and the 12-month guarantee removes the risk from the purchase.
It is not the right buy if you are already fluent or if interviews are your bottleneck. But for the majority of people asking me how to learn financial modeling properly, this is the answer I give. At $497 with lifetime access, it pays for itself the first time you build a model at work without staying until midnight to figure it out.
WSO Elite Modeling Program FAQ
How much is the WSO program?
The Elite Modeling Program costs $497 as a one-time payment, or three monthly payments of $170 ($510 total). Both options include the same six courses, certificates and bonuses with lifetime access. WSO runs frequent promotions, so checkout prices are sometimes lower than list.
Is WSO worth it?
For modeling skills specifically, yes. You get 50+ hours of practitioner-taught video, 60+ exercises and real case work for $497, plus a 12-month money-back guarantee. If you build models for a living or plan to, the time saved versus self-assembling free content covers the cost quickly. If you only need interview prep, WSO’s interview courses are the better-targeted buy.
Is Wall Street Oasis legit?
Yes. WSO is one of the longest-running finance communities on the internet, with forums holding over 500,000 topics, and it says it has trained more than 63,000 students over the past decade. The Elite Modeling Program alone has 25,947 enrolled students and a 4.9/5 rating across 90 verified reviews on WSO’s site.
Does Wall Street Oasis offer refunds?
Yes, and it is the standout policy in this market: a 12-month unconditional money-back guarantee. If the program is not right for you, for any reason, email their support within 365 days of enrollment and they refund every penny, no questions asked.
How long does the WSO Elite Modeling Program take?
The six courses hold 50+ hours of video. Working through the exercises properly, budget two to three months at an hour a day. Everything is self-paced with lifetime access, so there is no deadline pressure.
Is the WSO certification recognized?
Each of the six courses ends with a certificate of completion you can share to LinkedIn. Treat them as proof you put in structured work, not as a license: what actually convinces recruiters is being able to build the model in a live test, which is exactly what the program trains you to do.
